Good recipes, so far. We had the Corndog Casserole based on another reviewers raves, and it was indeed delicious. Next I want to try the Beef Burgundy with a couple of the side dishes when I have company over for dinner. But, one thing I noticed is that some of the recipes sounded familiar. I've seen the very same Broccoli Cornbread in another cookbook, as well as quite a few others. In fact, the Jiffy-Mix Company came up with that recipe first. I don't think these recipes are theirs, but lifted from other sources not noted in the recipe. Don't say "their recipes" on the back cover if they are not indeed theirs.

This is the Casserole Queens second cookbook. A New York Times, Best Seller, and with high praise from none other than, Bobby Flay, on the cover. The first recipe I tried was the Pile HIgh Frittata. It includes the ingredients based on a Denver Omlette, for the best breakfast casserole I have ever tasted. Shared the recipe with friends and now their all time favorite breakfast casserole too. This book has more of the 9 x 13 casseroles, with several seafood options, and included breakfast casseroles at the end of the book. Homemade cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups to use in recipes, instead of the canned versions. Bobby Flay loved their savory lasagna and the caramel bread pudding. If you are looking for recipes that will perk up mealtime at your house, this book delivers. Both of their cookbooks make it easy to make a great family meal, put a casserole in the freezer for another day and allow you to make enough food to share with a family member that may not be able to cook for themselves. With the dietary notes, pretty much solves all the cooking challenges cooking for family presents.

Love the book. Gives a lot of information along with each recipe. The best part for me are the freezer storage information. We have two freezers and keep them full most of the time. Thankful that I bought this book.

I enjoyed reading this cookbook! Some recipes reminded me of the food I enjoyed in grammar school back in the 60's. Love it! Love the recipes!

Too many deserts, starters. Not enough main dishes for my liking

I really liked this cookbook it was an Amazon recommendation after purchasing The Pioneer Woman cookbook. I really like all the different types of dishes they included as well as all the freezing tips and tricks.

Great cookbook! Most of the recipes are simplified updated classics cooked in a casserole dish. I'm very pleased with this cookbook.

I bought this, and Nic's first book Tweak for my addict son who is in jail. He absolutely raved about both of these books, and said that he felt like the author was living his own life and that it gave him some hope for his own future.

I couldn't put the book down. As the mom of a 21 year old addict who has had numerous visit to rehab, this book made we anxious and hopeful. Nic's account felt very real and honest as his behaviors and attitudes are ones I have witnessed first hand. While I felt compelled to read this addict's account of his life, my husband can't bring himself to dig up the pain we have lived by reading it.I do wish, that whether it is Nic's books or his father's, people would educate themselves about this very scary epidemic and see addiction as the disease it is. Until we move this issue out of the "anonymous" position it has taken, and for good reason, our society will not give this subject the attention and funding it needs to find cures.I applaud the Sheff family for giving this problem the voice it deserves.

I read Tweak after reading Beautiful Boy, by Nic's father, twice. I am the mother of an addict. When I saw Nic had written another book, I instantly read the reviews and kindled it immediately, honestly not expecting to be as moved by it as I was by Tweak. That is not the case. Nic, thank you for writing this book, it was amazing.It may sound odd to call a book about the tortures of someones life amazing, but, this book is. Nic lets us see every twisted, terrible downward spiral by being honest with how he feels and what he thinks, no matter how dirty it sounds. His braveness is unbelievable, letting us see the worst of him. Then, we also get a glimpse of the greatness in him and the hope that lies within. And that hope gives me hope, for him, for my son, for every addict out there.Nic DOES NOT whine about 12 step programs nor does he bash them. He simply doesn't think they are his way. They may work for most, but perhaps not for him, or they are not the be all end all. He does participate in treatment that is not 12 step based, although he said he goes to a meeting once in a while. Since when does one thing make sense for ALL, every single person? That thinking is so off track. There is always a percentage of people that the common cure does not work for. All Nic is saying is that 12 step isn't for him, let's not crucify him for it. If he had cancer, maybe chemo would work for most, but maybe not for him, are we gonna fry him for that? I applaud how he figured out what he is comfortable with, and stayed true to himself. He doesn't say don't do treatment, he says find the treatment that feels right to you.This book is just as good as Tweak, and I sincerely hope Nic keeps writing, because I, for one, will be buying his next one.Be well Nic and thank you, thank you, thank you.

I needed this type of insight into the mind of an addict. My daughter is in a bad place right now, and having this perspective has been immensely helpful to me in understanding her. I felt like so many of his words could be coming from her.

I loved Tweak, and I loved David Sheff's book. This one, however, was disappointing. It was a rather repetitive book about his ongoing denial, his disdain for the efforts of others. While I understand that is part of the process, for both addiction and recovery, this book repeats the experiences of the original without offering any new insights that makes it an important or insightful re-read. I found myself frustrated instead of compelled.

When we left off with Nic Sheff in Tweak, he was in rehab, and it sounded as if it was working this time. The thing with rehab is we never know how many times it's going to take. A lot of addicts give up after a couple of tries, and everyone else gives up on them also. But you got to keep trying. You can't stop trying after four attempts if the fifth time is the one that's going to work. Anyway, I thought Nic was going to make it this time, but in his follow-up memoir, We All Fall Down, we find out that he's just faking it, he's playing the "therapy game." He says what he knows they want to hear, and they believe him...until he gets kicked out for making out with a female client. What I liked about Nic in Tweak was his humbleness, his honesty, and his insightfulness. But this is a different Nic Sheff in We All Fall Down. He's grandiose, he's an egomaniac with an inferiority complex, and he's got a severe case of terminal uniqueness. He thinks he's better than everyone - hipper, smarter, cooler, but, paradoxically, he thinks he's nothing. I didn't like this Nic Sheff at all. I was thinking, what a low-down, spineless wimp, know-it-all. Then I realized these are things I don't like about myself. I remembered that this is exactly how I was when I was in my twenties. It's ugly. Well, of course he relapses, though he doesn't sink as low as before - no hard drugs, mostly pot and alcohol. This book is a good study of what goes through an addict's head as he relapses. There's all the rationalizations, minimizations, and justifications - the twisted logic. And it all proves that it's not the drug that's the problem. It's our inability to live life on life's terms that the problem. Of course it's a cliche now, but it's true that the drug use is just a symptom of the real problem. We All Fall Down ends with Nic getting clean again, getting another eighteen months of sobriety. But after using for several years, it's really hard to stop using when you're in you're in your twenties. As Nic says, "Having to be sober was like being a forty-year-old trapped in a young adult's body." A must read for those who need a better understanding for addict behavior. Nic has a great ability to describe in a way that keeps the reader interested and informed. I've read every book he has written and recommend all for those who have a close family or friend that is an addict. He gives you a better understanding on what works and doesn't work when dealing with an addict. Even if you don't have an addict close to you, it is still a good read.

This book does a great job of breaking down the many facets of Jewish prayer--from the basics to the very traditional age-old practices. It features diagrams which help to demonstrate the 'choreography' of Jewish prayer, and is beautifully broken down into chapters which make referencing what you need a snap! This book would be great for those who want to better understand or increase their level of observance, as well as potential converts and even friends/family who might be participating in rituals in the home or synagogue and just want to know more! This will be a go-to reference for years to come!!

How to Pray as a Jew is a comprehensive guide to the orthodox siddur. For those who attend orthodox services, or prayer at home, this book does not have all that much to offer; it does delve a bit into the history of the siddur's composition, but not to any great extent.For the rank beginner, the major drawback of this book is that the author does not explain the siddur in order, but by level of importance. So, for those not familiar with siddur, having one handy while reading this book is key.

There's so much orange highlighter in my book it's unreadable.Other than that, I have the Kindle version and it is one of the most respected and recommended books for new jews and those that are interested. It's a bit on the Orthodox side, but if one can see past that, it's quite the authoritative book. It explains how to put on tefillin and the tallit with instructional pictures.The only reason I gave it a 2 was because my paperback came in an unreadable state. It's a worthy purchase otherwise.

If you have an open mind about judaism which the church does im catholic, this book is my go to book when i dont know where else to go, i have another one but its been used so much i needed another. This book is where i go to meet God face to face with the patriarchs on mt. Sinai or the temples. The prayers are directed at God in the most mystical way.Prayers formulated by an assembly of holy men . My best book along with the sidur and bible where im totally with God in union again when i have dryness or darkness in thoughts or prayer.

Awesome book. Loaded with info. Got this particular item on Kindle. Its lots more then a prayer book. It talks about keeping the sabbath, how to dress for sabbath service, how to perform and conduct oneself at sabbath service. Prayer shawls and so much more. I love it.

This book is essential. If you want to understand prayer from a hebraic lens this book is for you. He even explains why prostration is no longer apart of prayer except for certain holyday and karaites. Very good read. Great read for Christians as well. Christians may understand a lot more of what Jesus was talking about when referencing prayer and fasting.

This cover is actually really beautiful! I believe I got the medium size. It fit my bible perfectly! However it was not what I expected. I kind of expected the cover to be a little more vibrant, like a lighter blue and for the picture to be a little more vibrant. It is a little dull and dark however it is beautiful! Size is a little big for my book but it doesn't cause any harm, just annoying for a perfectionist. Plenty of room for book and notes and pens/pencils. Color, wording, and image just like picture. If your book measures 1/4 bigger than given dimensions of cover it should still fit.

I was anxious to receive my new Bible cover as it was a Christmas gift from my friend. I ordered the medium because my Bible is quite small. I was disappointed that it was still too big for my smaller Bible. It is very nice and a pretty cover but sadly I have to return it. My Bible just floats around in it. I do not see any cover with smaller dimensions.

Item is nice, but the large is MUCH bigger than described - a good inch. This makes my bible move around haphazardly and the case look deflated and sloppy.
