Very good book. Highly recommended. Never seen before pictures.

As always number 1

Outstanding photographs that I've never seen before of early and late Panzer IV's, some still in action, some knocked out - about a 50/50 mixture. The author's knowledge on the production variations of these tanks is staggeringly impressive, but that becomes actually a distraction and became somewhat annoying actually. Many of the photos show the Mark IV's in very unusual situations, but the lengthy captions will say nothing about what's going on in the photo, instead, page after page deals with minute details about the tank itself, who built it, and when, calling your attention to the number of rivets on side skirts or how the smoke canisters are installed or things such as that, rather than mentioning why some of the photos show intact Panzer IV's with Russian crews in them, apparently still operable, and still with all German markings intact. Others photos show IV's in really odd situations, and again, nothing is said about that, only about the production details of that particular tank. It makes reading the captions quite monontonous, but the photos themselves are well worth the price of the book, and this is an outstanding set.
