About the Author
For years, NgocBan Thi Phan has impressed people with her Vietnamese cooking as a caterer and as a cooking instructor. Since 2009, she has brought her cooking to the public as Wrap and Rolls, LC, at the Olney Farmers and Artisan Market in Olney, Maryland. Although the Market is open only on Sundays for part of the year, people who tasted her cooking have become loyal fans. Many have said that her food was the only reason they come to the Market on a rainy Sunday morning. Similar to her commitment made as the owner of Wrap and Rolls, LC, a percentage of the profits from Vietnamese Cooking will go towards supporting her charitable work in Vietnam.

As another reviewer mentioned, this is a wonderful cookbook, and it was made by two wonderful people. I took NgocBan's cooking class and loved spending time with her and her husband (he took all the photos for this book, by the way). Although they do not promote this, all of the proceeds go to charity in her home country of Vietnam. I made the spring rolls for a Superbowl party and they were a hit. Share these recipes with your family, and a family in Vietnam will benefit from the author's generosity.
This cookbook has to be one of the best ones i have. It is written as if the author handed me a notebook of her personal recipes. Space is not wasted on the history of the food, personal stories or different rechnoques. I hate cookbooks like that! No, this one is filled with recipes and delightful photos of the food. The print is large which is another added benefit. I can see it!The recipes look delicious and they are easy to follow. Written in everyday language. Nothing there that makes me wish I knew a chef so he could explain it. I can't say enough about how much I love this cookbook. I am just glad i purchased it.
The recipe list was a little thin and I was looking for a basic guide to Vietnamese cooking for the non-cook. What type of pan, utensils, sauces, etc. If I would have already been familiar with the process then it would have been a better rating.
This is a wonderful recipe cookbook. They give some nice details and break things down for you and how to handle. Especially if you are not of this culture but would like to cook like you were. I would highly recommend!
The book has really good recipes just a really small amount of them. All of the ingredients are easy to get. The recipes are easy to follow.
I really like this book for easy vietbnamese recipes and it has great pictures which is a must for me. The book was pretty small but it had the recipes I wanted so I am happy.
